Science of Swimming | Hindi
There are a large number of sports that involve water. Swimming is one of them. Swimming requires a lot of energy as compared to the work done in air, because air (gas) is very different from water (liquid). The biggest difference is that water is much more dense (the same volume of it weighs much more) and viscous.
The main force which causes difficulty in swimming is Drag Force (water resistance).Three types of Drag forces faced by swimmer are- Form Drag, Friction Drag, Wave Drag.
This video will explain how these forces work and how to use them to our advantage in swimming.
This video is a contextualized version of the original video from the series called "Aisa hi Hota hein" (linked below), first aired on Doordarshan and produced by Vigyan Prasar. The video is used only for non-commercial and educational purposes under a creative commons license.
